Abi Sherer, MS, LPC-IT
Hi! My name is Abi Sherer, and I am an LPC-IT at Lighthouse Counseling Services. I am especially passionate about working with adolescents, teens, young adults, and couples. My hope as your counselor is to support you in working toward your goals while deepening your understanding of yourself so you can create meaningful change!
I have a background in supporting clients ages 11 and older who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, interpersonal challenges, life transitions, attachment-related issues, and other emotional or relational difficulties. These situations are part of the human experience, and when these start to take over day-to-day life, that can feel overwhelming: you don’t have to navigate it alone.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered and strengths-based while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques. This means I seek to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and respected. Together, we will explore how your thoughts, emotions, and experiences influence your behaviors and relationships, while also identifying your strengths and values to guide growth and change. I tailor my support to each client’s unique needs, helping them develop healthy coping skills, build self-awareness, strengthen communication, and learn how to navigate difficult emotions.
I earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University in 2026. Prior to that, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Mind and Brain certificate from the University of Kansas.
