Marie Palmer, MA, LPC-IT
My name is Marie Palmer, and I am a person-centered, trauma-informed counselor, passionate about supporting people navigating emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. I have a particular focus on school-related stress and burnout. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel understood, accepted, and able to grow.
I work with children experiencing anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, and school-related concerns, including behavioral challenges, peer relationships, and transitions. Support is tailored to help build emotional awareness, coping skills, self-esteem, and confidence in expressing needs in developmentally appropriate ways.
Having spent 15 years working as an elementary school teacher, I also specialize in supporting teachers experiencing burnout, stress, compassion fatigue, and the emotional demands of working in education. I provide a space to process these experiences while developing healthy boundaries, stress management strategies, and tools to restore balance and overall well-being.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lakeland University and my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia. My time as a classroom teacher deeply informs my understanding of child development and school systems. I am also a mother of four, which further shapes my perspective on children, parenting, and family life. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and am committed to ethical, compassionate care.
