Lauren Eckert, Clinical Mental Health Intern

Greetings! I'm Lauren Eckert, and I'm excited to introduce myself as an intern at Lighthouse Counseling. Currently embarking on my second year in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Marquette University, I am deeply committed to the field of mental health. My journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, coupled with a minor in Drug and Alcohol Studies, which I earned from Minnesota State University-Mankato in the spring of 2022.

During my educational journey, I had the privilege of completing my practicum experience at a clinic in downtown Milwaukee, where I had the opportunity to work with diverse populations. I've engaged with clients navigating intimate partner violence, attachment issues, and more. My experience extends to working in a group home for adults with severe and persistent mental illness, further enriching my understanding of mental health challenges.

With a passion for several areas including spirituality, women's issues, and relational dynamics, I'm dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered. It's a privilege for me to walk alongside individuals on their unique journeys towards healing and growth. I believe in a flexible therapeutic approach, and while I draw from various techniques, I've found value in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. I look forward to contributing to the transformative work at Lighthouse Counseling and being part of our clients' pursuit of well-being and resilience.
