Meet Gwen

I'm excited to be part of the Lighthouse team!

I took the  scenic  route to becoming a clinician after spending many years as a graphic designer. At 45, I decided to recreate myself and move toward a career path I'm passionate about.

I'm a graduate of University of Wisconsin - Whitewater with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Wisconsin; as well as a certified Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) having studied abroad in Scotland where I completed my addiction studies.

Like you, I have encountered a fair amount of life's struggles of my own, and disclose that in the therapeutic relationship where it benefits my clients. I'm a parent of 3, and have navigated my share of shifting family dynamics and explored the early stages of my own journey into middle age.

These experiences, combined with my education and training, allows me to not only understand the needs of my clients, but to provide genuine empathy without a stitch of judgement.

  • Eating Disorders and Body Image Concerns
  • Addiction and Codependency in relationships and family systems
  • Adoption identity and transitions
  • Trauma utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is one of the leading techniques for dealing with past traumas.
  • Creating a supportive sex positive space in which to explore communication dynamics in relationships, polyamory, swinging, kink, LGBTQ and consensual non-monogamy.

I practice from an attachment perspective which focuses on important relationships in our lives and
the innate human need to feel connected, loved & supported.
