My name is Brittany Hablewitz and I am in my final year of my Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. I will be applying for my Licensed Professional Counselor In Training license in May, following my graduation. I am currently a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). I am interning at Lighthouse Counseling with Jeff Ferguson as my supervisor and also have a supervision group at school.
I provide adult/child individual therapy as well as family or couples counseling. I am new to the field but so far have worked with depression, anxiety, couple’s/family relationship issues, stress management, and adjustment and self-esteem issues. I have also worked with children with developmental delays.
I believe in the importance of examining all aspects of a situation and learning to take on multiple viewpoints to find the best solution. I also believe people are products of the environment they were raised, in as well as their current environment. I work from a family systems perspective, but also utilize tools from other approaches such as strengths based, solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, and narrative therapies.
I enjoy working with people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, religions, and cultural backgrounds. I am committed to helping you to discover new things about yourself and work towards your overall well-being, regardless of where you come from. I believe everyone is the expert on their own life and hold the keys to success within themselves and I am here to help them access those keys.
